September 2024’s newsletter: “The Three Wishes” by Guest Author Christina van Starkenburg
Hello, friend!
We have a guest author for our September newsletter.
Christina Van Starkenburg is sharing her fairytale retelling short story with our Dragon’s Horde of Friends.
As a gold fairy, Aurianna’s life has always been fairly comfortable. No spiderwebs and dew drops for her. She gets to sleep in doll houses and collect coins that clink carelessly across the floor. But when someone kidnaps her host’s child, Lady Agna makes a wish. And if there is one thing a fairy can’t refuse, it’s a wish made in tears. Dusting off her wings, she slips from the house to find the missing babe.
Christina Van Starkenburg is an award-winning author and illustrator, who balances her time between writing and raising dragons. It is a challenging endeavor to keep the fire-breathing beasts and paper separated, and more than one story has been singed in the process, but she keeps at it because she loves sharing the magic of these worlds with you. You can find her, her partner, and their young brood exploring the Saskatchewan prairies as they embark on the next leg of their own adventures.
