Hello, friends! It’s time for the monthly writing update.
–
I’m currently researching online anthologies to submit more short stories for publication. I’ll keep you updated on how it goes!
Recently, I submitted a short story titled “The Killer Doll and the Dollmaker” to Podcastle [https://podcastle.org/], a fantasy podcast that produces audio performances of fantasy short fiction. My story is a contemporary fantasy that answers two questions no one asked: “What if someone gave Chucky a makeover?” And: “What is doll customization like from the doll’s point of view?”
I still haven’t received word on my previous submissions to Transform the World Anthology or the Queer SciFi flash fiction contest. I’ll let you know when I finally hear back from them.

#RevPit is an annual competition for authors with unpublished manuscripts to win a chance to work with freelance editors for 8 weeks and polish and ready their manuscript for agents. I applied to #RevPit in March, and the winners will be announced later in April.
I’ll also be participating in the Twitter pitch event #MoodPitch, in which authors post mood boards for their manuscripts to attract an agent for representation. I previously participated in #MoodPitch in November of 2022, and a similar event called #KidLitMood in January this year. (No, I didn’t end up getting an agent out of it. Let’s hope it works out this time!) You can find my moodboards for those previous events on my twitter account [https://twitter.com/Labrecqueauthor], and stay tuned for the outcome of this one!
Wish me luck.
